We are happy to answer any of your questions! Here are a few answers to get started:

Do I need to take a safety test if I am an experienced Carpenter?

Yes. Regardless of skill level all members and users of the Saratoga Joinery are required to pass safety tests and checks as determined by the shop stewards. We strive to have a welcoming and inclusive community and part of that is ensuring everyones safety.

Can I Volunteer at the Joniery?

Of course you can! Please reach out to Hannah. She will be happy to figure out what volunteer opportunity is best for you!

Can I donate old tools?

Yes and no! We welcome donations but what we can take is limited. Please email Hannah with what you have and she will let you know what to do next.

Can I join the Joinery if I have no experience?

Yes! We offer classes of all sorts so people can be comfortable with our equipment. The Joinery is intended to be a community space which welcomes all people who want to learn and follow our safety rules.

Can I take a class without becoming a member?

Yes! We will have class passes with varying amounts of shop time. Once we are open a calendar of classes will be available on our website.
