We're here for community.
Volunteering with us allows you to meet like-minded people, develop your skills in a welcoming place, and support local artists. Saratoga Joinery is a community space and relies upon people like you to help build it. No experience required; training provided.
Shop Safety Coordinators work in four-hour shifts in our workshop. Their role is to supervise workshop activity to ensure all safety policies are being closely followed. If interested, a Shop Safety Coordinator may also teach our Machine Safety Training courses. In addition to overseeing the workshop, some light administrative duties may be assigned.
Shop Mentors are experts who donate their time in 2-hour increments to helping someone with their project or skill. Mentor time will be booked as a one-on-one appointment with the mentee.
Saratoga Joinery is a community space and we are committed to giving back to our community. We solicit service project proposals from community organizations year-round and recruit volunteers to work on these projects as a group.
Saratoga Joinery is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a governing board. Many organizational decisions are made through committees. Some formed committees we have are: Marketing, Membership, Safety & Operations, Special Events, and Curriculum. We are always looking for people with experience in these areas to help us in our efforts.
An important part of our mission is education. We offer high-quality woodworking classes in our space. We are always accepting proposals for classes and our teachers are always compensated.
If you'd like to teach a class but haven't taught before, we'd still love to hear from you! We are always looking for passionate woodworkers to teach classes. Contact [email protected] and we'll set up a time!
Saratoga Joinery is a community space and we are dedicated to serving our community. We encourage community organizations to submit service project proposals for any woodworking-related project that they need completed so that we can use our resources to fulfill the need for a fraction of the cost.
Donations to Saratoga Joinery, regardless of the amount, make a positive impact on our community and changes lives for the better. Your tax-deductible gift expands tuition support, creates new opportunities for our youth and underserved communities, purchases and maintains equipment, and contributes to our shop's vitality for years to come.
