9 outdoor woodworking projects to do right now

April showers bring May…woodworking projects!

Here in the Northeastern part of the country, we’re all probably feeling pretty compelled to get outside as much as possible right now. While our shop is an indoor space, we totally support this impulse. Go outside! Soak it in! Tend to your gardens and breathe the spring air. We are doing the same and we will be here for you on those rainy days.

But don’t count out woodworking as a bad-weather hobby just yet! There’s nothing like curating an outdoor space with pieces of your own making. Here’s a list of some spring-themed woodworking projects (with plans!) to consider:

Outdoor furniture.

Enjoy the spring weather in style – and with pride.

  1. Easy: Outdoor side table
  2. Intermediate: Adirondack chairs
  3. Advanced: Porch swing

Birdhouses.

Create a habitat in your backyard, get a book (or an app!) on identifying bird songs, and you’ve got a recipe for a perfect, tranquil summer.

  1. Easy: One-board simple birdhouse
  2. Intermediate: Log cabin birdhouse
  3. Advanced: Bird gazebo

Lawn games.
